The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO), provides service from Houston airport to the vicinities with various stops. It runs to the METRO Station Downtown Houston.


To purchase the ticket: driver only accepts cash. Fare: $1.25.

To pick-up / Drop-Off: METRO Bus Stop - Location: Baggage Claim Area (Terminal C, South Side).


METRO Bus 102: it is the convenient one for passengers that want to travel from Houston airport to Downtown Houston. Get off at the intersection of Milam - McKinney (it is before the METRO Transit Center), and don’t forget to ask to the driver to wait until any luggage is retrieved.

Walk to the corner of McKinney - Main. Catch the METRO Bus number 40 (southbound/eastbound) to Houston.

Other buses run to:

- Beaumont/Port Arthur (Texas) - Jack Brooks Regional Airport (BPT). Companies: United Airlines, Sun Travel Airport Shuttle.

- College Station (Texas) – Easterwood Airport (CLL). Companies: GroundShuttle.com

- Galveston. Companies: Galveston Limousine Service

It is necessary to arrange the shuttle service, at least, two days before arrive at the airport.


Courtesy vans

There are several companies that operate courtesy vans, most operated by hotels/motels around the airport . Passengers can request the service by the courtesy phones located at the baggage claim area.


Shuttle service

From Houston airport depart Courtesy Shuttles and Hotel Shuttles:

- Courtesy Shuttles depart from each terminal (A, B, C, D and E). Passengers may follow the “Ground Transportation” signs.

- Hotel shuttles can be requested by the dial phones and the interactive kiosks that are located in Terminals A, B, C - Baggage Claim Area and on Terminal E - Arrivals. It is recommended to get in contact with your hotel to know previously if do you have the service available.

Shuttles - Arrivals: all shuttles arrive at terminals with the exception of Terminal D. In this terminal, international travellers arrive at the Terminal E international arrivals.


Shuttles run to various destinations from Houston airport: to Reliant Park/Reliant Astrodome, the Galleria, the Texas Medical Center, Downtown Houston, Greenway Plaza, Westside hotels, the city of College Station and William P. Hobby Airport.



You can hail a taxi through the Ground Transportation employees outside each terminal. All destinations within Houston's city limits to/from Bush Intercontinental Airport are charged according to the flat Zone Rate or the meter rate.
